“March” to Woodstock – It’s Maple Syrup Time!

Sugar House near Woodstock and The Jackson House InnMarch in Vermont is unpredictable and full of surprises.  One beautiful sight is smoke billowing from the top of a sugar house – a sign of predictably delicious maple syrup coming to life! To celebrate the product and the people who make it happen, the weekend of March 23 and 24, 2011 is designated by the Vermont Sugar Makers Association as Maple Syrup Open House Weekend. Come to Woodstock and The Jackson House Inn for a getaway visit!

Rick will be featuring maple products in each breakfast.  And – our special Sweet Winter 2011 Suite rate of $199 will be in effect for this weekend (or check on a reduced rate for our Classic rooms).

Butterworks Farm organic maple yogurt a favorite at The Jackson House InnThen take a trip to one or several local maple syrup producers to view (and in some cases help with) the process of sugaring and boiling sap.  Our neighbors at Sugarbush Farm, Top Acres Farm, and Elm Grove Farm all have special events and treats planned.  Taste so many varieties, and choose your favorite to take home (of course there will be cheese and jellies and other wonderful products to add to your bag!).
